About us
Conecta Galicia is a non-profit association founded in 2024 with the aim of connecting Galician youth with Europe, promoting volunteering, and involving young people as agents of change for the social transformation of the Autonomous Community. We work especially to facilitate the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, including those facing learning difficulties or related learning problems, disability, socioeconomic, cultural or geographical barriers. We work especially to facilitate the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, including those facing learning difficulties or related learning problems, disability, socioeconomic, cultural or geographical barriers.
As members of the European Rural Pact Platform, our work focuses primarily on rural areas, with the aim of curbing youth depopulation and contributing to sustainable rural development.
Furthermore, in Conecta Galicia we strengthen the ties between Galicia and the Lusophone world, especially with Northern Portugal, within the Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion.
This interregional cooperation seeks to address the common challenges faced by young people on both sides of the border, through shared initiatives in the educational, cultural and social fields.
What do we do?
- We give information talks about the opportunities that the EU offers to Galician youth.
- We offer international mobility opportunities for learning, training and volunteering.
- We organize environmental volunteering activities and conservation of the natural heritage of the Autonomous Community of Galicia.
- We are launching mentoring programs to support social entrepreneurship projects and training to improve the employability of young people.
- We develop initiatives to promote and enhance Galician cultural heritage, with special attention to the Camino de Santiago and the Jacobean phenomenon, as the First Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
- We provide on-demand technical advice to help other Galician entities obtain European funding (in the application, management and justification phases) and offer consulting services to turn ideas into successful projects.
